Associated services
| If you are renting it is a good idea to ask the landlord if you can take over the existing services from the old tenants to avoid a delay in the services being reconnected. If you take over the phone number the old tenants must fill out a form to release the number to you but, unless they want to take the phone number with them, this is advisable as is can take a few weeks to get the line back up and running, and it also avoid extra installation costs. Apartment rental will include some of these costs in the service charges. |

Connecting your telephone and internet line |
||||
| Fixed land line | ||||
| The first thing to decide is if you want an analogical line or ISDN, which allows you to phone and surf the internet at the same time. If a phone line isn’t connect, then do this without delay as it can take a number of weeks to get it sorted out. If you chose an analogical line you can still access the internet but it will be very slow. The best choice is to install ADSL, which allows you not only to telephone and surf simultaneously but gives you other options as well. You will normally pay a set monthly charge. With ASDL you can also opt to take IPTV (internet television) and Wifi installation, which offers you wireless internet throughout your home. Many operators offer a complete communications package with landline, internet and mobile phone grouped as one. |
