Department Physics & Astronomy
Salary £27511 to £40322 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance
Are you interested in the physics of the early universe, in particular Inflation, non-perturbative field theory or phase transitions in the early universe? If so, we invite you to apply for the above two year STFC funded post to begin in October 2020.
If your research interests are in one or more of the following areas we particularly encourage you to apply: Inflation arising out of fundamental theory, non-perturbative field theory, including reheating at the end of inflation, the formations of topological and non-topological objects such as cosmic strings, Q-Balls and Oscillons or phase transitions in the early universe, including Gravitational Wave production during first order transitions at the electroweak scale.
If successful you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse set of researchers in the particle cosmology, quantum gravity and astronomy groups in Nottingham.
You will need to have, or be close to completion of, a PhD, in physics or mathematics related to the subject.
This is a full time, fixed term position available from 01 October 2020 until 30 September 2022.
