OFFER DESCRIPTION

Working field: Applicants are expected to conduct experimental work in the field of quantum nanophotonics. The responsibilities comprise the design and development of quantum devices for applications in quantum communication and integrated quantum nanophotonics as well as quantum optical experiments on semiconductor nanostructures and quantum devices. The devices shall be based on semiconductor quantum dots and / or quantum emitters in 2D quantum materials. Further tasks include the supervision of Bachelor and Master graduates and PhD students, the acquisition of third party funded projects, the management of third party funded projects, and teaching activities in advanced lab courses and seminars in nanophotonics.

 

Requirements: Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) and PhD in physics preferably with in-depth knowledge and experience in the development of quantum devices and in experimental quantum optics; special qualification of academic work, which is usually demonstrated through an outstanding PhD thesis; strong interest in innovative approaches and research questions in quantum optics, quantum communication and nanotechnology; proficiency in English; sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected; experience with working in international research projects, project management and an outstanding publication record are advantageous.
