The research work will be carried out at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, .as part of the project entitled: “Toxicological Aspects of New Two-Dimensional Nanomaterials from the MBenes family” (OPUS 18, NCN project). In the project, the candidate will carry out an electronic structure calculations, in the framework of the Density Functional Theory (DFT), for two-dimensional (2D) MBenes systems important for ongoing and future experimental works. The candidate's tasks will include theoretical research on surface, structural, energy and electron properties of selected MBenes compounds (Mo-B, Cr-B and Fe-B), as well as changes in their properties as a result of surface modification by different functional groups, resulting from the application of an appropriate method of synthesis of these compounds (close cooperation with the experimental group). Developing of machine learning tools and the use of the machine learning algorithms will be additional tasks. The aim of the research is to understand the origin of the physico-chemical properties of the compounds of the MBenes family and to identify the key features that may affect the toxicological aspects of these compounds.
The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2020 item 85 with further amendments).
