Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW announces a competition for the employment of a research-didactic adjunct in the Department of Plant Physiology

Job definition:

Applicants for this position must meet the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz. U. 2018, item 1668) and the Statute of the University (Statute of Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW).

Candidate's duties: the candidate will conduct scientific research, as well as lectures and exercises for students in plant physiology with elements of molecular biology and ecological biochemistry in Polish language, apply for research grants and write scientific articles for publishing in journals with IF> 3.0, lead organizational tasks for Department of Plant Physiology and Institute of Biology SGGW.

The candidate is expected to present:

1) PhD level in Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology;

2) Publication record in a relevant area, list of participation in scientific project, confirmation of being a principal investigator of a research project;

3) Practical laboratory experience in plant molecular biology (gene expression analyses on RNA and protein level), differentiation, isolation and identification of proteins (knowledge of the MALDI ionization mass spectrometer and MS results processing tools are welcome), knowledge of basic microscopic techniques

4) Knowledge of the basic and molecular mechanisms of plant physiological processes and plant tolerance to abiotic and/or biotic stresses, with particular emphasis on biochemical interactions between plants and other organisms;

5) Knowledge of statistical software;

6) Native or good level of Polish, good level of English;

7) Experience in students teaching particularly in plant physiology with elements of plant molecular biology and biochemistry and related courses;

8) Ability to work as a member of a team;

9) Ability to organize own work and to work independently and with minimum supervision; documentation showing the ability to organize work and raise funds is welcome;

10) Good scientific record keeping;

11) Documentation confirming internships in foreign scientific institutions

The following documents must be attached to the employment application:

1) a copy of the degree diploma,

2) a self-presentation with elements of a biography,

3) a list of the scientific publications,

4) a statement confirming compliance with the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz.U. of 2018, item 1668),

The winner of competition is also required to provide additional documents:

1) an application to the Rector for employment as an adjunct,

2) personal questionnaire with a photo,

3) in the case of a positive result of the competition, a certificate from a doctor of occupational medicine (prints can be received in the Unit of Personal Affairs WULS-SGGW) will be required.

Persons from outside of WULS-SGGW also submit:

1) an opinion from the last place of work.

The selection board has the right to select no candidates for employment.
