Postdoctoral researcher 'Mouse models of liver disease'

2 - Position description

The Faculty of Faculteit Geneeskunde en Farmacie, Department Farmaceutische en Farmacologische Wetenschappen, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher. 

More concretely your work package contains: 

•    

• You will be involved in an innovative research project focused on the testing of novel anti-inflammatory drugs in mouse models of liver disease.
• You will perform animal experiments, cell cultivation experiments and molecular biology analyses.
• Your scientific work should result in several manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed journals.
• You will assist in the supervision of PhD students and master students.
• You will participate in writing grant proposals.
• You will assist in the organization of practical courses for students in bachelor and master in pharmaceutical sciences.

For this function, our Brussels Health Campus (Jette) will serve as your home base. 

3 - Profile

What do we expect from you?

• You’ve attained a 
  • You have a doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences, (bio)medical sciences, bioengineering sciences or equivalent.
  • You have a master degree in pharmaceutical sciences, (bio)medical sciences, bioengineering sciences or equivalent.
  • You have a FELASA category B certificate.
• • You have hands-on experience with mouse models of liver disease.
  • You are a dynamic and flexible person. o You are able to work independently, yet as a team member, and accurately.
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills both written and oral.
  • You have a good knowledge of the English language both written and oral.

4 - Offer

Are you going to be our new colleague?

You’ll be offered a contract, for an assignment of 1 FTE, for 24 months (extendable, on condition of the positive evaluation of the research activities), with planned starting date 01/10/2021. 

You’ll receive a salary linked to one of the scales set by the government.
