YOUR TASKS

 

Ghent University wishes to further expand its educational activities in blue sciences at Ostend Science Park. In this context, Ghent University is looking for a scientific employee who will contribute to the development of an educational center for Lifelong Learning in Blue Growth and Blue Economy at Ostend Science Park. This is a broad range of tasks and includes: the development of a platform (online and offline) for all current training initiatives within Ghent University within the field, the development of a support package for training initiatives prohibited at the education center, supporting professors and researchers in the development of their on-campus training initiatives both online (MOOCs) and offline.

 

You work in a highly multidisciplinary environment with a wide variety of internal and external partners. You will be appointed within the Marine @ UGent team on site in close collaboration with UGain and Marine Training Unit. You will be 100% employed on the UGent site at Ostend Science Park.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

  • You have a Master's degree.
  • Knowledge and interest in the broad field of blue sciences (e.g. biological sciences, bio-engineering sciences, engineering sciences, industrial sciences, life sciences) is recommended.
  • You have a sense of initiative and are a team player;
  • You have excellent cooperation and communication skills in Dutch and English (written and oral);
  • You have perseverance and an independent, proactive working style;
  • You are willing to look beyond the limits of your own expertise and have a strong motivation to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You have demonstrable IT skills

 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

 

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 2 years
  •  Your contract will start on 30/04/2021 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4.  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
