Position summary
The Common Agricultural Policy is placing a growing emphasis on environmental outcomes and more of the funding coming to Irish farmers through the CAP budget will be directed towards the provision of public goods. This is evident from the publication of the recent Green Deal and Farm to Fork strategies. This research project, Console, is an H2020 EU funded project with 24 partners across 16 EU Member States, including UCC representing Ireland. The aim of the project it so design and test improved contractual solutions for the delivery of public goods by farmers. The UCC team will collect farm level data and use economic models to test the acceptability and effectiveness of a variety of agri-environmental programmes in Ireland. These results will be combined with those collected in other Member States to develop recommendations for the future design of more effective results-oriented agri-environmental programmes.
The Post-Doctoral Researcher will join a team of more than 50 researchers across Europe and will work under the supervision of Prof. Thia Hennessy the PI for Ireland.

Salary: €38,630 - €45,942 p.a. (IUA Salary Scale)
