Project Researcher/Post-doc Researcher in breast cancer research

We are seeking a researcher to join the team of Professor Jukka Westermarck at Turku Bioscience Centre in a breast cancer project focused on the role of PP2A in breast cancer development and drug resistance, especially on the inhibition mechanisms of PP2A in triple-negative breast cancer as well as on those transcriptional mechanisms where PP2A inhibitor protein, CIP2A is causing drug resistance.

Essential qualifications

• Academic degree in a relevant discipline 
• Experience in cancer research and PP2A biology
• Experience in predictive use of gene expression profiles
• Good communication skills in English and strong interpersonal skills

Desirable qualifications

• Experience in biomedical research, especially in triple-negative breast cancer
• Skills in bioinformatics for analyzing gene expression profiles
• Prior publications in the field of biomedicine

Salary

The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The position belongs to the category of teaching and research personnel. The salary will be in average 2300-2700 eur/month for a person holding a MSc degree, and in average 3000-3500 eur/month for a person holding PhD degree.

Duration of the contract

The employment is fixed-term starting on July 1^st 2021 until January 31^st 2022.
