OFFER DESCRIPTION
KU Leuven announces 15 full-time academic staff positions.
These positions are primarily research-oriented and are made available for excellent researchers with a high-quality research program (research professor, also called BOFZAP). The duties will mainly include scientific research of a high international level in the field proposed by the applicant. The assignment will be integrated into the chosen faculty/department.
The BOFZAP positions are open for candidates from all research disciplines and scientific domains. For some of these positions a research profile is defined. So you can apply for a position in any kind of research disciplines (= Open BOFZAP category), or you can choose to join one of the following research profiles (= profile BOFZAP).
The list of BOFZAP profiles will be further expanded at the beginning of June.
For this call the following research profiles are defined:
- Research professor in Islamic Studies (with focus on Islamic Theology) (BOFZAP)
- Research professor in coastal, offshore and hydraulic engineering (BOFZAP)
The BOFZAP positions are primarily research-oriented, but the applicants must be prepared to undertake limited teaching assignments according to the BOF-decree.
Qualified applicants are expected to have a high international level in the scientific field (Senior BOFZAP) or a high potential is estimated (Junior BOFZAP). The high quality of the applicants should be evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, they are also expected to have good training and teaching skills in order to take on teaching assignments at the university.
Interested applicants must hold at the time of appointment at least three years of postdoctoral experience, from the date the PhD was obtained.
Selected candidates will be appointed in an academic staff position, with a rank depending on the candidate's qualifications.
The number of positions will depend on the available budgetary resources.
In the decision making process, the global research- and education policy of the university will be taken into account.
