DESCRIPTION (field, expectations, comments):

Department of Plant Genetics Breeding and Biotechnology, Institute of Biology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences is looking for candidates with doctor degree in natural or agricultural sciences discipline biotechnology or related for a faculty position at the research-didactics assistant level. The candidates should be an author or co-author of at least 3 scientific publications indexed in JCR. Persons applying for the position mentioned above must meet the conditions set out in art. 113 of the Act of 20.07.2018 of Higher Education and Science Law (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668 with later changes) and the WULS-SGGW Statute. The duties of the candidate will include student teaching and research conducting. The teaching languages will be Polish and English.

The candidate should be characterized by the following skills:

  • good knowledge of classical and molecular genetics, plant biotechnology,
  • experience and skills in molecular biology, plant in vitro cell cultures and bioinformatics,
  • the ability to work in a team and flexible organization of the working time,
  • knowledge of English in speech and writing sufficient to prepare publications and conducting classes in English,
  • proficient computer skills in MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint,
  • ability to use computer databases,

In case of the same skills, the additional criteria of candidate selecting will be: (1) experience in conducting exercises for students in the area of genetics, plant breeding, plant in vitro cultures and plant cytoembryology, (2) knowledge of current topics in: plant genetics and genomics, biology of phytopathogens, crop breeding for disease resistance, (3) experience and participation in research projects, (4) knowledge of Joinmap, MapQTL and CLC Genomics software.

Those joining the competition should provide to the Office of the Institute of Biology (building No 37, room 014, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Nowoursynowska 159, 02-776 Warsaw, Poland), from 9.00 am to 3 am, the following documents (by email ib@sggw.edu.pl or in person):

  • an application for employment addressed to the Rector of SGGW,
  • personal questionnaire form,
  • CV with description of the scientific career,
  • a copy of doctoral diploma,
  • a list of papers published and accepted for publication,
  • positive evaluation of the conducted classes or the monothematic lecture

The candidates from outside of the university provide, additionally:

1. references from the last employment place,

2. employment certificate.
