Description
Call for Applications: Doctoral scholarship
The Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics (WCGE) hosts the international doctoral program “Ethics and Responsible Leadership in Business” (ERL). The program academically and financially supports doctoral candidates who develop scientifically well-founded and practically relevant answers to questions arising in the research areas of economic, corporate, and leadership ethics. It also gives them access to a broad scientific and professional network. The program is ideal for highly qualified, socially engaged, and globally thinking, active young scholars and practitioners from all over the world. For further information see: www.ethicsinbusiness.eu.
In addition to the scholarships financed by the Karl Schlecht Foundation, the program will award one doctoral scholarship financed by the HaVo-Stiftung, for admissions in October/November 2021. The scholarship includes the membership in the doctoral program, a monthly living stipend of 1,350 € and research allowance of 100 €.
Thematic Focus of the Program and the Tendered Scholarship
Business, corporate, and leadership ethics make up the research areas of the doctoral program. In particular, this program focusses on the framework for entrepreneurial value creation for the good of people, society, and the environment, on the responsibilities placed on companies and the social trust in companies and their decision makers, and on good leadership. For further information, see:
https://www.wcge.org/en/research/doctoral-program/thematic-focus
One particularity of the HaVo scholarship is that the research proposal should relate to neuroscientific research. We do not expect the candidate to do neuroscientific studies, but the proposal must draw on findings from the fields of neuroethics and/or neuroeconomics. Examples include neuro-studies on moral judgment, trust, and cooperation.
The dissertation project of applicants must fit the thematic focus of the doctoral program, the tendered scholarship, and the research interests of the supervising professor:
