Position Summary

The position offers excellent training and career development opportunities including early supervisory experience working within a team of researchers and PIs in high quality laboratories with ample opportunities to develop new skills and expertise. The person will be based at the APC Microbiome Ireland, a SFI centre with international reputation in intestinal microbiome research in health and diseases. APC Microbiome Ireland has a strong culture of academic curiosity and discovery that may translate into partnerships with industries.

The Post-Doctoral Researcher will, while working in conjunction with senior research staff, gain insight and experience into a variety of areas including the process of project and budgetary management, the development of active collaboration with relevant national and international research communities, the development of communication and presentation skills and possible experience in mentorship of students.

The Post-Doctoral Researcher will conduct a specified programme of research, supported by a modular training programme, which will include modules of relevance for the development of specific knowledge and research skills, professionalism and communication skills, leadership and management skills, and overall career development.

A specific aim of the project will be to understand how key transcription factor switches may regulate the immune response and how to modulate these switches.

 

Project Title: Plasticity of immune cells with focus on role of ikaros family of transcription factors in lymphocytes and macrophages

Post Duration: 12 Months

Salary: €38,630 - €45,942 p.a. (IUA Salary Scale)
