Offer Description
Work Plan:
The fellow will participate in project tasks related to the procedural generation of buildings and explosion simulation. This scholarship aims to explore the generation of 3D buildings with rules so that they can be used in simulations and games. The aim is to explore various procedural generation techniques such as Wave Functions, Fractal Generation, L-Systems or Shape Grammars to generate credible buildings, based on the design of a provided plan. The type of building may also be given as input, as well as various rules such as density of interior elements, number of windows, number of doors and distance between beams. It should be possible to export the generated model to a CAD format. With the generated model it should be possible to carry out simulations such as explosions, earthquakes or collisions. One possible use for the model will be in creating games in which entire cities with many buildings are automatically generated. Possible results to investigate: 1. Follow vector plan (Autocad DWG) 2. Polygonal meshes (beams and floor) 3. Buildings with walls windows doors 4. Putting inside, stuffing 5. Create city with game example 6. Experiencing explosion 7. Export the building The activity will also include writing and submitting scientific articles and reports and participating in research centre team events. The Researcher shall fully devote the whole of his/her professional activity to NOVA.id.FCT, on an exclusive basis
