The Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP) belongs to the Materials Science and Technology Research Area of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). It is involved in the scientific and technological advancement of polymeric materials through research projects and contracts, education and dissemination of scientific information.

We offer a part-time contract (66,66 %) with a duration of 40 months to carry out scientific-technical activities as a Research Support Graduate in SOLENER-CM project within Technologies 2024 call founded by the Community of Madrid.

We are looking for a research support graduate for the SOLENER-CM project (TEC-2024/ECO-31) with the following responsibilities:

• Synthesis and microstructural/electrical characterization of ion exchange hybrid membranes as electrolytes in fuel cells and electrolyzers.

• Fabrication of electrodes by deposition of catalyst layers.

• Preparation of membrane-electrodes assemblies (MEAs).

• Electrochemical characterization in single-cell PEMFCs: determination of polarization and power density curves, cyclability tests and in situ ionic conductivity measurements.

• Data analysis and reporting in collaboration with other groups that make up the project consortium.

• Participation in project meetings and workshops.

The contract is financed by the Community of Madrid through the Programme of R&D Activities in Technologies (2024), through the project ‘Development of SOLutions for the ENERgetic system of the Community of Madrid: improvement of the manageability of renewable generation by means of hybrid conversion and storage systems’ (SOLENER-CM, Ref. TEC-2024/ECO-31), by means of ORDER 5696/2024, of 10 December (B.O.C.M. No. 307, Pp. 108-129).

Descripción de la oferta

Se ofrece la contratación a tiempo parcial (66,66 %) con una duración de 40 meses, de un Graduate Researcher (Investigador/a Licenciado/a) para realizar actividades científico-técnicas en el proyecto “Desarrollo de SOLuciones para el sistema ENERgético de la Comunidad de Madrid: mejora de la gestionabilidad de la generación renovable por medio de sistemas de conversión y almacenamiento híbrido” (SOLENER-CM) de la convocatoria Tecnologías 2024 de la Comunidad de Madrid.

Realizaría las siguientes tareas: 

• Síntesis y caracterización microestructural y eléctrica de membranas híbridas órgano-inorgánicas de intercambio iónico para su aplicación como electrolitos en pilas de combustible y electrolizadores

• Fabricación de capas catalíticas y ensamblado de MEAs

• Caracterización electroquímica en monoceldas PEMFC: determinación de curvas de polarización y potencia, ensayos de ciclabilidad y medidas de conductividad iónica in situ.

• Análisis de datos y elaboración de informes en colaboración con otros grupos que conforman el consorcio del proyecto.

• Participación en reuniones y talleres del proyecto.
