The Department of Social and Legal Psychology is an internationally visible research group with a research focus on social, political, and erotic cognition. In addition to research foci in cognitive biases, representations of history, political attitudes, and indirect measurement methods, we are particularly interested in psychological-disciplinary perspectives on human differentiation as a contribution to the transdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center SFB 1482.
Your tasks:
- social-cognitive research, ideally related to the Mainz CRC "Human Differentiation"
- Acquisition of own third-party funding
- Teaching in Social Psychology or Social Cognition in the BSc. and MSc. degree programs in Psychology
- Supervision of theses
- Support of the chair in administrative tasks (e.g., maintenance of the website, research data management)
- Participation in the "third mission" of the chair (e.g., through public lectures and other scientific communication

Your profile:
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 58 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate:
- A successfully completed scientific university degree, preferably in the field of Psychology
- A relevant and doctorate in psychology (preferably summa cum laude)
- Post-graduation full-time work experience of at least 2.5 years
- Proven experience in successful publishing at an international level
- Experience with Open Science
- Experience in the competitive acquisition of third-party funding is desirable
- Excellent statistical knowledge, especially in mathematical modeling of cognitive processes
- very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English
